Call it preppy, traditional or All-American, this classic look got it's name from the private preparatory schools on the East Coast of the U.S. Staples include loafers, Oxford cloth buttoned-down shirts, khaki pants and polo-style shirts.

It's a versatile collegiate look that can go from the street to a bar to the tennis court to the workplace. Materials are natural - cotton, wool, leather. Old school purveyors include Bass, LL Bean, Brooks Brothers Gant, London Fog, Ray-Ban, Sperry, Converse and Izod-Lacoste. New school brands are Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Izod, Lacoste, Burberry, Abercrombie & Fitch, GAP, St. John's Bay,Goodfellow and George.
